Antonio “Tony” Ferachi is a painter of Louisiana landscapes. His oil paintings are loose and impressionistic in style with bold brush strokes of color. Ferachi paints many facets of the Louisiana landscape from the marsh and bayous, cypress and oak trees, sugarcane, birds to its seafood. He strives to capture the beauty of nature that is around us every day. In a January 24, 2019 feature in The Advocate (Baton Rouge), Ferachi was quoted, “I draw from what I see around me every day. The cane fields, bayous, trees, grasses and birds are my inspiration.”
Ferachi began painting when he was nine years old and he has continued to practice his craft ever since. His work has been featured in The Advocate (Baton Rouge) and 225 Magazine. His work has also been showcased in the Baton Rouge Bar Association’s Arts Judicata event in 2017, 2018 and 2020. He has received numerous ribbons from the Plaquemine Bank Art Alert Art Show, Acadian Art Show and West Baton Rouge Library Art Show.

ANTONIO “TONY” CHARLES FERACHI is the Director of Litigation and General Counsel of the Louisiana Department of Revenue. He previously served the agency as a senior tax, appellate and business litigation attorney specializing in the areas of sales, excise and corporation income and franchise taxes. He is a Board Certified Tax Law Specialist Certified by the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization. Ferachi has represented the department before the United States Supreme Court, Louisiana Supreme Court and the Louisiana appellate courts and has garnered numerous favorable published opinions on various tax matters including: constitutional law, statutory construction, tax procedure and qualification to various tax exemptions. Ferachi is a regular contributor to the Louisiana Bar Journal, and has published articles in the Southern University Law Review and Around the Bar-The Magazine of the Baton Rouge Bar Association. The Baton Rouge Bar Association has featured Ferachi in their Attorney Spotlight. Ferachi currently serves as program chair of the Tax Section of the Louisiana State Bar Association. Additionally, he is a frequent speaker on tax issues at seminars sponsored by the American Bar Association/Institute for Professionals in Taxation, Louisiana State Bar Association-Tax Section, Louisiana Society of CPAs, Louisiana Association of Tax Administrators, Southeastern Association of Tax Administrators, and the Department.
